Colin Braun v. Mike Calinoff in Social Media Battle

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (December 3, 2009)- Colin Braun and Mike Calinoff kicked off a social media battle during the Sirius Speedway radio show with Dave Moody on Tuesday.

The 2010 Roush Fenway Racing Nationwide Series driver challenged Calinoff, spotter for No. 17 Matt Kenseth and CEO of Activ8 Communications, to a 10-day Twitter competition.

The contest, which officially runs from Dec. 1-11, will utilize the social media platform to gain followers for both Calinoff and Braun. The competitor with the largest increase in followers at the end of the contest days wins.

Calinoff accepted Braun's challenge with the stipulation that the loser must wear a "B.B. Sting," the Activ8 bee mascot, costume in public.

"I want to win this contest," said Calinoff. "I'm not sure the bee costume is going to look very good on me."

The contest will conclude at the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show in Orlando on Dec. 11. The loser of the contest will wear the "B.B. Sting" costume around the convention center.  Video and photos of the loser will be posted on the Activ8 Facebook and Twitter pages.

"Walking around in a bee costume is high on my list of things to do in my life," Braun said. "I'm confident in my fans to help me beat Calinoff.

Braun, a client of Activ8 Communications, finished the 2009 Camping World Truck Series point standings in 5th place.
